We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00pm. Yes, you are welcome to come in person to our Ames Location.

Are specialized services available for Veterans/Spouses of Veterans?

Yes, specialized, priority employment services are extended to those in the U.S. Armed Forces. All veterans are eligible for priority service, including, but not limited to, those returning from active duty, the disabled, or those retiring from the military. Spouses of Veterans also received priority of services. Yes! Most job postings are available online. You can browse the NE works job postings or use other popular online job search tools like Indeed from your home, the library or at the Heartland Workforce Solutions American Job Center at our resource center on Ames and future 24th Street Site.

Can you help me find a job?

Help is available in person at Heartland Workforce Solutions -American Job Center. Career seekers can also access job postings and resources online through our resource library or the NE works website.

In-Person help: We offer in-person help within our resource room, where you are able to meet with career navigators and schedule a 1:1 meeting with a career coach.

How do I apply for unemployment benefits?

You can file a claim for unemployment benefits online through the NEworks website or contact the Nebraska Department of Labor.

If you don’t have a computer, you can visit Heartland Workforce Solutions where there are computers available and staff to help you. Click here for Heartland Workforce Solutions address and phone number.

If you have questions regarding your eligibility, or you are unable to file your claim using the online system, please call the Nebraska Claims Center at 402-458-2500.
