Business Workshop Videos

Join us the 4th Wednesday of each month from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for networking and learning events hosted by Heartland Workforce Solutions in collaboration with Metropolitan Community College. 


Each month we will feature business-focused topics and career stories from industry leaders. These events will be held both in-person and virtually. The location of the in-person component will rotate from month to month. For information about where the in-person event will be held each month, checkout this page or follow our social media channels. 

How CRED Helps:
  • Funding: Up to $1,000 for courses, classes, or tests that result in a credential, license, or certification. 
  • Career Fields: Common fields include healthcare, construction and IT (not exhaustive).
  • Support of DACA renewals with the goal of helping you maintain employment.
  • Additional Support: Funding for uniforms, tools, and transportation (up to $300). 
Benefits:
  • No Age or Income Requirement: Open to residents of Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties. 
  • Community Connections: Partnerships with local businesses and organizations for job placement post training. 
  • Comprehensive Support: Covers new certifications, renewals, and necessary job maintenance tools. 

Getting Started

To apply, attend an orientation at Heartland Workforce Solutions.

Orientations are held in-person and virtually every two weeks. Check the HWS website calendar for dates.

Abraham Mora, Career Readiness Coordinator  

 

Meet Abraham, your CRED team point of contact. Throughout his career, Abraham has gained a diverse range of experience, including federal work, project management in the private and nonprofit sectors, and board service with several boards throughout the metro area. In his most recent career shift, he has been making a significant impact in the workforce sector. Abraham’s passion is to empower individuals to achieve a better quality of life. He believes that providing individuals with access to resources they may not have found on their own, enables them to take ownership of their career outcomes.
 
In his free time, you can find Abraham spending quality time with his family outdoors. Lots of activities keep him busy like reading, mountain biking, disc golf, and camping. Abraham is also dedicated to working with youth in outdoor settings to develop their leadership skills.
