Career Readiness to Eliminate Disparities Program (CRED)
The Career Readiness to Eliminate Disparities (CRED) program, funded by a Community Services Program grant from the City of Omaha, supports individuals facing employment challenges. Our goal is to provide short-term training and certification funding to help reduce these hurdles and quickly connect participants to job opportunities.
How CRED Helps
- Funding: Up to $1,000 for courses, classes, or tests that result in a credential, license, or certification, and supportive services (max $300).
- Career Fields: Common fields include healthcare, construction, and IT (not exhaustive).
- Support of DACA renewals with the goal of helping you maintain employment.
Benefits
- Community Connections: Partnerships with local businesses and organizations for job placement post-training.
- Comprehensive Support: Covers new certifications, renewals, and necessary job maintenance tools.
Eligibility
- Open to residents of Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington counties.
- Household income levels must be at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty guidelines .

To learn more about the CRED process, attend an orientation at Heartland Workforce Solutions.
IMPORTANT: We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible before starting a course, training, or submitting a DACA renewal. Applying in advance helps ensure there is enough time for processing and approval.
