Erin Porterfield is the Executive Director of Heartland Workforce Solutions, joining the team in 2013. Her personal mission is to eliminate barriers and provide opportunities for people to reach their full potential. She feels great pride in seeing people from a variety of agencies and programs collaborate by bringing resources and action to accomplish astounding things for our community.
Erin is a licensed clinical social worker and brings over 20 years of experience in social work leadership. Previously, Erin served as Executive Director of Metro Area Continuum of Care for the Homeless, a collective impact organization to end homelessness. Additional experience includes directing programs connecting people living with HIV/AIDS to medical care, housing and support at Nebraska AIDS Project. She also led a child abuse prevention program and was a family therapist with Child Protection Services. Erin serves on regional and national workforce system organizations and has been adjunct faculty at University of Nebraska, Omaha, Social of Social Work, her Master of Social Work alma mater.
In her free time, Erin likes to kayak, cycle, hike, garden, travel, explore nature, and laugh with her partner and two teen boys.
